Children, Youth, and Families

Christian education is fundamental for children to learn about God’s love and the teachings of Jesus as they begin their life of faith.

During Sunday School, children sing songs, learn Bible stories and explore how a lesson may apply to their own lives. Christian community is important throughout our lives, and Sunday School provides a wonderful opportunity for new friendships to be formed that may last a lifetime.

Sunday School takes place from 10:30 – 11:15am for children ages 3-10. Children then rejoin the service after the exchange of The Peace.

By serving as acolytes, children learn to be leaders of worship, model good behavior, and assist very practically in serving at the altar. Duties include carrying the Processional Cross (crucifer) or carrying a torch (torch bearer), holding the Gospel Book for the Deacon, and helping to set the Table at the Eucharist. Each acolyte is fully trained, and then instituted and given a special Acolyte Cross to wear. For more information, please contact Mo. Elise at [email protected].

All in grades K-2 who wish to join will explore singing through training that includes musical games and playing rhythm instruments to develop basic skills They rehearse weekly from mid-September through mid-May on Thursday afternoons from 4:00 to 4:45. Epiphany Cherubs sing six times a season on Sundays and Christmas. No prior singing or other musical training is required. All in grades 3 to grade 8 who wish to join will develop their singing through ear training and music reading, as well as gaining in their understanding of worship. They rehearse weekly from mid-September through mid-May on Thursday afternoons from 5:00 to 6:00. Epiphany Choristers sing eight times a season on Sundays and Christmas. Join your voice with others in expressing praise to God through the gift of singing. 

All who love to sing are welcome, especially high school/college/grad & med school students. No prior experience is necessary. Volunteers are joined by professional section leaders who assist less experienced singers. The choir sings weekly Sunday morning services and holiday services from mid-September to the end of May with weekly rehearsals on Thursday evenings from 6:45 to 8:15.
